The Brownsboro Bears opened play at the Wagstaff Holiday Classic in Tyler Thursday night against Tyler-Bishop Gorman, losing to the Crusaders, 54-47. The first half was tightly contested, with the Bears trailing 26-24 at halftime. The second half was back-and-forth as well, with the Crusaders leading 38-34 after the third quarter. But Bishop Gorman kept their momentum going to eventually pull away for the 54-47 win late in the fourth quarter. Gage Wehrmann and Tylor Johnson led Brownsboro with 12 points apiece. Behind them was Jarrod Hastings and Chance King with seven points each, Saul Williams with four, Colby Wood with three and Cole Williams with two.
